Summer Associate Program
We actively recruit second-year students for our summer associate program.
We feel the program is invaluable - not only from our standpoint, but also for the person who is given the opportunity to preview the firm and its practice and gain valuable experience and training. Each summer associate is paired with a partner and a senior associate who assign work to and closely monitor his or her workload and are the mentors of the summer associate. In addition, the senior associate acts as an "ambassador" upon the summer associates arrival at our firm. Summer associates also participate in our regular professional development seminars, as well as in-house lectures and seminars designed expressly for the summer program.
Summer associates are assigned work of the same general nature as that assigned to first-year associates. Summer associates receive overall evaluations of their work at the midpoint and the conclusion of their stay with us, as well as in-house lectures and seminars designed expressly for the summer program. Because the number of places in the summer program is purposely limited, we hope to be able to invite all summer associates to join our firm upon graduation.
There is an active life outside of Bergman, Horowitz & Reynolds after hours. Social events are planned throughout the program to acquaint the summer associates with members of the firm, as well as with the rich and diverse recreational and cultural benefits of the New Haven area. These events include our firm picnic, luncheons, harbor cruises, New Haven Ravens baseball games, golf and tennis. In addition, partners, associates and summer associates get together from time to time on an impromptu basis to socialize after work.
